inside the boot.
« on: 14 January 2007, 18:47 »
I have a Mk3 1998 Golf GTi, and there is a bracket (possibly two)
behind the left hand wheel arch in the boot. There is also a rubber
strap to hold something in the bracket I assume,....
Anyone know what this is for ?

I think that is for the fire extinguisher, the rubber strap holds it in.

It's urban right? That means it must be tougher, obviously.... ;-)

The girlfriends polo had an emergancy medical kit in the boot, maybe for that. I was wondering as well, my MK3 is bare

I don't know what the brackets for, so I took it off and used the holes to mount a cd auto changer like its done on a MK4 golf.

The brackets are naff and useless unless you go to VAG and buy the first aid kit and triangle.

best taken out and that makes the space available for a nice built in sub!

I used the 3 screw holes to secure the sub box!
