best headgasket?
« on: 14 January 2007, 13:09 »
ok it wasnt my clutch , the headgaskets gone between the 3rd n 4th cylinder big time! compression showed 4 bar which is abysmal lol. the noise i heard must be  the pressure escaping.

what i want to know is who makes the best quality head gaskets . i used a gsf one last time and there pants tbh , given im gonna skim the head as well it needs to be thick enough to take up some of the gap lost. cars a 1.8 8v 1989 'pb' digifant mk2.

It mite be different as the capacity of the two supercharged engines used in MK2's is different to the N/A ones

yup G60 gasket will work, although apparently they are ever so slightly thinner or thicker, I can't remember which.
