Some cars get better with age, some worse.
The only way to find out for sure is to get yourself to one of the Meets where there is a quarter mile drag available. I,ve tried the GTI international dragstrip a couple of times and found them both very exiting and a good gauge of the performance. (last time out 0-60 in 7.3 in my TDI MKV)
