Wheel suggestions
« on: 11 January 2007, 13:05 »
I'm just having a think about what wheels I want for this golf - I'm tempted towards ats cups, but I've always liked 6 spokes too but I don't think I've seen any that suit the kind of look the golf has. Simething between 6 and 8 spokes with a bit of lip is what I'm thinking of right now, but I'm open to any suggestions.

I'm having simular thoughts for mine. can't really afford them at the mo, but i think the 15 x 8 cups are great. or some borbet A's?
i also like your relay shaft bush picture as it reminds me of a hula hoop, a tasty snack indeed.

ATS cups look good with a low profile tyre and the car decked to hell i think. i like huge dished Borbet A's better though (TOM GET THEM)

Cups always looks good as do borbet's, though i think the widened bbs' are the ones. It does depend what you can stumble accross and when but they sometimes come up.

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

Get something unusual. Too many peeps have the same wheels. (unless they are dished BBS RM or RS of course, they don't count!)

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

true indeed...

also unless you get crazy dished ats cups i think they generally look too small on mk2's.

Hi, I have a few sets of wheels that I have on ebay at the moment. I tend to agree with the sentiment that the rarer the better. I also have one or 2 sets going on this Sunday night as well including 7.5Jx16 & 9Jx16 Borbet A's, a set of stunning Rial chrome & gold 8Jx15's etc. I also still have these as the guy has not yet paid as he is unsure about the fit for his polo... ebay item 180072148962. Also loo at the items for sale sectio as I am just putting a few links on.

Ok. BBS splits are the best wheels for any Mk2. Period. But if you're a touch lazy like myself, the wipe clean Borbets still present a tough yet clean, understated look. ( wow, i actually sound like i know what i'm talking about! )
