Anyone fitted a Water Pump?

Hi Guys,

Im new to the mk4 section, just wanted to know if anyone has replaced a water pump on a 1.6SE, Got the part and the haynes manual. just wondering if any tips avaliable??

Hi.

Is it the 1.6 16 valve engine or the 1.6  8 valve engine?

On both you need to take the cam belt off, but on the 16v you need a special tool to lock the cams in a specific position or you could damage the valves.
