having had my engine (2001 1.8t aum) replaced by westec performance, newport following the camshaft snapping, i used the car for less than two months, and now the drivers side engine mount has broken off the casting.
i took the car back to them with the promise that they would repair it (free of charge)
four months has since past and the problem has not been fixed, despite numerous calls and visits.
few questions need answering please.
1. legally where do i stand?
2. can i take it elsewhere and charge westec?
3. whats the best way to fix the mount, ive heard from others that if welded it will only last a short time?
4. is it best to change just the bottom end or the whole engine, bear in mind ive forked out over £2000 to do the exact same thing a few months back?
5. can anyone recommend a better garage in south wales who deals with vw's?
