It wasn't long before i noticed a distinct rumble from the drivers front wheel, time to investigate. After getting the car up on a ramp and giving it a bloody good check over, it was found to need the following.

2 Strut top mounts Front   (Replaced  28/12/05)
2 Anti Roll Bar links            (Replaced  28/12/05)
1 Set rear brake pads       (Replaced  30/12/05)
1 New shock front             (Replaced  30/12/05)

By which time the battery decided to do one, so that had to be replaced too

I must also add that none of this cured the rumble!!!

Only a few weeks later another problem arose, severe banging on acceleration,  Didn't take too long to find out that the front engine mount had given up so:

1 front engine mount       (Replaced 13/01/06)

It stil had its rumble, but it wasnt causing me a problem, and didn't seem to be getting any worse.

Bought and fitted K&N Panel filter  (10/04/06)

Somewhen about here in the time line, decided to get more of a 90's spec look, the old 7 slat grill was ditched, and the new 5 slat one put in its place.

Also fitted a Scorpion stainless steel DTM Back Box

This understandably was shortly followed by the big bumper swap

And as you can see from this pic i have added some M3 styled lights not sure exactly when though

The rumbling noise decided that it was gonna get worse, lucky me, as most of you probably already suspect it was wheel bearings.

1 pair of wheel bearings (Replaced 11/05/06)

NOISE STOPPED!!!!

12/07/06  FAILED MOT  Low parking brake efficiency

Just needed to adjust the handbrake cables

26/07/06 PASSED MOT

22/07/06
New wiper blades all round
Oil and Filter Change
New Coolant

29/09/06
Bought and fitted full set of crystal cross hair headlights and spots

04/10/06
Bought some wheels which looked great, thats where the fun started, went to fit them and needed 2 new Hub rings, then had to go and buy all new wheel bolts cos the ones i had as standard were the wrong shape.  Decided to replace 2 of the tires cos they would have needed doing sooner or later.

Well worth the hastle but cost alot more than i'd figured on in the end.

You'd have thought the car would have appreciated what i was doing for her but no!!!

The alternator decided to pack up, never mind eh!

1 Alternator      (Replaced 13/10/06)

Saw a red anodised power rohr on ebay, and it goes well with my future plans for tidying up the engine bay, so bought and fitted that around 14/11/06 (look closely in the following pics, you can just about see it)

Then on to something thats been bugging the hell out of me since i got the car, a gear lever with a throw of about 20 yards, ok i exagerate a bit, but anyone with a worn gear linkage components will know how bad it is. So it was time to my my hand in my pocket again.

1 Neuspeed Shift Repair Kit     (Replaced 16/11/06)
1 Neuspeed Short Shift Kit       (Replaced 16/11/06)

No pics of the short shift kit as of yet, but there will be.

Also replaced the ones at the gear lever end.

Well thats about it upto date so far, there is a god awfull bodge on the rad fan which i am due to sort out soon, it messed up in august leaving The Bulldog Bash in Shakespeare county leaving me with water pissing out from everywhere in the queue to leave the event  :embarassed:

My next things to sort are as follows

Refit air distribution box under dash and heater matrix (already have new heater matrix)

Fit Samco coolant hoses, red ones (Should be on order this week)

Fit Nuespeed 2 Pole fan switch low temp  (already have )
Fit Nuespeed 180 Degree thermostat       (already have )
Fit new Water pump                                  (on order)
Fit new Header tank                                  (on order)
Fit new Radiator fan                                  (on order)

Also highly possible that i'll be buying a full stainless Scorpion system this week.

Other future mods include tinted windows, retrimming interior, if i ever get time, sorting out the sounds in the car, lowering the suspension, improving the brakes, and not forgetting new headlining and a bonet without a dent in.

This is my baby as she currently stands

Not a huge amount of progress since i posted this, but i still have the car, and its still progressing.

Well, i fitted the fan switch, thermostat, water pump header tank and fan, the coolant hoses finally got sorted after getting sent the wrong ones, and delays on orders etc. She runs at a constant temperature now, and no over heating.

I also had to fit a new rocker cover gasket, cos oil was going everywhere.

And had to take off the fuel metering head, cos it was jamming up, and i couldnt gett the car to tick over, its amazing what a good clean can do.

Here are my latest pics.
