Had Spax springs and adjustable shocks on my other cars and find them great!
Plus they are British!

Plan on replacing my shocks and springs and lowering in the near future and wanted a bit of advice.

Can spend up to ~£400-500. Would like to drop to 40mm maybe. What springs would people suggest ?

What else should I think about having replaced at the same time as I cant see the point of spending money to have the shock and springs replaced if the parts around them are still a pile of s***.

Bushes ?? mounts, what else and how much do these bits cost ??

I don't want too much of a drop so looks like Eibach! Do you needs lowered / shorter shocks too or would OE ones do the job? I think at this stage anything would be an improvement! Sadly my budge doesn't stretch to something clever!

If I get some new shocks etc what else might need changing ?

Bushes arent expensive and I plan to change them but what else so I can price it up ?

Top mounts (just the front or  front and rear), bearings, bump stops ???

Car has done over 100K, advice appreciated

So when changing the suspension I will also need to get:

Bump Stops
Front Top Mounts (Possibly rears too)
Dustboots

Anything else?

you don't need new bumpstop's as I have shortened the original's and they work fine, also defo front top mount's as these are crap on mk3's and have a bearing in them which fail (but go for top quality one's by v.w or febi bilstein) and you can reuse your dustboot's (again I have) as long as they are still intact and not split. rear mount's are just a rubber bush and rarely need changing but check the condition and replace if needed.

Also if your shocker's have done 70'000 miles I would change them as they do get saggy and robster23 you said eibach was your choice, just remember they do 2 different set's 1 is -20mm (streetline)and the other -40mm(sportline)
and now she sit's 40mm lower...on sportline's

That looks tidy Boney. Is that 40 all round? I think I have decided on a set from euro performance, 200 squids all in, Bilstein Streetlines. Budget stretch but I can't wait for the difference. Is it a driveway dooable job?

Cheers bradley for the info - for me it will be new springs, shocks, front top mounts . I can re-use my dustboots as they are OK. Hopefully bump stops can use as well.

BTW - nice car
