Induction kit (complete novice)
« on: 29 April 2003, 13:14 »
Hi,

I know frig all about cars but I wouldn't say no to a bit more power from my Mk3 2.0 8valver.

A guy suggested getting a pipercross induction kit, but are they easy to fit on my own, taking into account the above statement?

Cheers guys.

Dan

Being a complete novice myself, I managed to fit a pipercross kit to my mk2 driver...I found that the diagrams and info provided by pipercross in the kit was excellent and clear...

You should be alright, they provide all the necessary clips and bits needed for the job, and providing you can work a spanner, screwdriver and make a cuppa in between theres no real probs ;)

Cheers

Don't expected a massive increases in power from any induction kit. Your not going to get it. I would save your money. ? Cheap, safe and easy way is just to Drop in a new K.N panel?air filter.

Don't piss about with cone shaped induction kits. Wast of time and money. ?If you have to go down this road always go for COLD AIR induction kits for example pipercross viper.

Just wanted to recommend a cold air intake for the 2.0 8 valver..... I have been looking for an induction kit ..... right nnow I have a B&D inducion kit with a k&n filter and it sucks the damn thing isnt induction its reduction... I have been researching the induction kits and have found a cold air intake kit for my 2.0 gti its the Eurosport cold air intake its like 189 dollars a bit pricey but its one of the few better ones.. I have heard good things about it from other owners....
