gearbox went bang

i just popped down the shop drove out changed from 1st to 2nd and banging felt like id driven over a rock pulled over smoke everywere (gearbox oil over down pipe) its buggerd so time for new gearbox and 2.0l block glad it happend as i got to do it now has anyone had experience of a big boyz toys recon gearbox (the only place i can find) going to get a bvh from dub shack or race power motorsport has anyone used these company's? and what did you think of them any advice would be appreciated

Simon AKA 'Madone' on here got a box rebuilt by a guy in Oxfordshire to a better spec than standard. I'm not too sure about how much it cost him, but bung him a pm and he'll be able to tell you.

As for Dubshack, they do some very good work, so I think you'll be alright there, but I've never heard of Race Power Motorsport.

Another couple of places you might want to try is Anderson Race Engines near Bath, and Automotive Solutions just outside Reading.
