Purchased from dealer in 2002, second owner from new.
Unfortunately, I've not had much luck with the car. The car itself is a dream to drive, but within the first couple of months some cocks keyed it - pretty much every panel apart from the bonnet, roof and strangely the front driver side door.
Then had further bad luck when another nobhead (previous relationship) damaged it causing scratches around the passenger-side front wheel arch as well as denting the bottom tip of the passenger-side front door and bottom panel.
I have pictures of the gory details should anyone request them.
I drive another car, in the meantime my brother drives the Golf. It's not practical for me to keep both cars so I'm hoping to sell the Golf - although it will be sad to see it go.
I've ummed and aahed about whether the car should be sold as parts (because of the damage), but it's a gorgeous car, quiet engine, accelerates like a plane. I don't see the need to have it dismantled.
Ok, so the questions I would appreciate your advice on:
Would it be worthwhile to fix the repairs before selling it? (Considering I'm financially limited and will it add much value to the asking price?)
Would anyone be interested in the car as it is (without dismantling)?
Truly grateful
