SPEC's aren't government approved, I think that's why they can only (currently) monitor your speed if you stay in lane.
Incidentially, most roadworks (that are there for more than a couple of days) on the motorways use SPECS cameras now, so just because you don't use the M5 doesn't mean your safe...

On the motorway would you be done for doing an average of over 70 or are you ok up to say 80 ? Anyone know ?
if your in the camper i dont think you have a problem

Carl, thing is when driving my camper it's really calm because I can't go very fast you have to trundle in the slow lane and you don't have to get involved with the hurly burly of getting in the way of the t0sser in his big car who you didn't realise actually owned that bit of the road.

Doesn't worry me as I slow right down anyway as I don't fancy hitting some poor bloke working at the side of the road.

although, you dont often see anyone actually working on the road works, so hitting someone is highly unkilely!

Oh contrare young Philipe ! They all stand around and never move so there's a very good chance of hitting one leaning against his shovel.

I've spoken to loads of Police in the coarse of my job and when I asked they have all said they give 10% plus 2 mph so I think it must be some sort of unwritten rule for most cases, sadly the safety camera partnership are another matter .. Gibby, good point mate, I do tell him not to speed but he just gives me the old "I was driving before you were a itch in my pants" type speech so its up to him  MaxiMK2 what car did you think I had . Dubtastic they usually post the INOP within 14 days and as long as they can prove it was posted in that time its O.K if it takes a bit longer than two weeks to get to you, then they have six months to prosecute and give points for the offense.
I had a mate who worked for the safety camera partnership (before he died in a bike accident) and he said was 10%+2 in Avon + Somerset anyway.
