German plates: do i go for D band or no band?

I've just won a set of German plates pretty cheap and i'm not too sure whether to get them with the D band or not? What do you guys rekon?

Without the D mate. Just plain europlate.

In New Zealand we can also use the black background plates, front and rear.

Can't fine you for German plates iirc Black and silver however unless your a foreigner you will get stiffed for I ran round with them on for about 5 months before chatting to a police officer of the law in the Asda car park one night :D  we had a mass debate about it at some point can't be ringed searching Slick will tell me off for not searching won't he!

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

They can and they most likly will, the font, spacing & colour must be correct in order to be road legal :)
Spacing it as per the UK plate and using the right colours makes it less obvious, but the German plate font is still illegal ;)

^ How true that man. My MOT tester keeps on going on at me for the smoked ones on my Mk4, and the German ones on the Mk2, but he rides a Ducati with the LOUDEST pipes ever, and he calls me illegal........

Dubmeister do pressed (UK font and type setting) for a good price, and I think they'll overtake the German plates in 07'.
