Breather pipe???? oil leaking..Do i need to remove this bit to fit correctly????

looking at my engine today I noticed oil around this black box thing... I have recently had all breather hoses relaced but i am wondering what this item does and how can i seal it..it dosen't want to seal any better then it is

That doesn't look connected at all to me from here! Might be the plastic hose that sticks out that has sheared off somehow. Probably be a scrappers or VW dealers for that bit.

It does push onto an outlet and then a big green clip hold's it in place, and this is all ok and the clip hold's the pipe but still leakage!!

i had this on mine when i got it
undo the clip and pull the pipe out
clean all the oil up and check the pipe is ok
if it aint its £33 from main dealer
more than likely though there is a o ring inside where it sits and this is what was causing mine to leak oil
