Good work Doc. Seems the suspension is still a point of debate as the article does not seem to detail if the 15mm lowered is in relation to a standard Golf or the normal GTi, which in turn is already 15mm lower.

If it's the latter, i.e. the same suspension as the GTi, the article is a bit muddled!

I certainly heard no mention of further lowered suspension when i was sussing out the ED30 with VW, but it seems even now the spec is still not 100% known.
2017 GTi Clubsport arrived June 2017
2007 Shadow Blue GTi, sold on after 10 years ownership

In the latest Golf brochure the heights of the GTi and the Edition 30 are listed as the same 1469mm.
Bye Bye Edition 30

not the best review then, i see that the bloke mentions the new megane had a LSD to help put the power down. Didnt ford do that with the focus RS, which was described by clarkson as undriveable as it was too twitchy.

probably better off just spending 2k more and getting the R32. or save 2k and just get the normal GTI which is good enough really.

thats the problem with VW, theyre trying to fill too many gaps in their golf range, same with the GT.

First drives from Carmagazine:-

So itÂ’s even better to drive than before?
Yes, it is. There are no changes to the suspension - although the GTiÂ’s chassis wasnÂ’t exactly in need of a makeover - but the engineÂ’s extra sparkle really adds some urgency to the driving experience. Our one complaint of the regular GTi is that itÂ’s sometimes too good for its own good and therefore lacks a bit of drama. But the 30 goes some way to answering that criticism.

ItÂ’s not just a subjective feeling of extra performance, either: as youÂ’d expect, the 30 is faster against the clock, knocking almost half a second off the sprint to 62mph (now 6.8sec down from 7.2sec) and taking the top speed past the 150mph mark for the first time. Which makes it blow-for-blow as swift as the newer Focus ST, if even more expensive.

Bye Bye Edition 30

The only problem with going up against a focus ST is how Meany of them are knocking on 300 bhp by now? Ford owners love to modify there cars. Morego recorded a time of 6.42 to 60 on cold damp road in VW golf plus mag. Awsome's car did it in 6.45. With either conversion it will cost you less and you will end up with a better car.   The ED30 is a wasted opportunity
03 210 Seat LCR. Badger5 V2.2TIP, Fordge 007p, Wellycooler, Quaife ATB LSD, Nuespeed ARB's, KW Clubsports, 330mm discs, 3" turbo back de cat and still on the standard map!
