my ady gti 8v golf cutting out any ideas please

my gti has been cutting out again this week i had this problem in sept time and changed crank sensor and relays 30 and 167.this morning bought a coil fitted this with no change what so ever.wednesday nite checked coil by putting spark plug in lead when engine was cold/cool it would spark but when teperature gauge is around half way line this is when it cuts out and no spark is coming from coil cleaned the thottlebodie out with carb cleaner and toothbrush still no change what so ever.itwill idle for around 10mins ish on drive then cut out and when driving it gets to that half way line and get to junction or roundabout go to slow down and thats it cuts out wont start again till it cools down.any ideas would be great

Hmmmm I had this problem with my ady golf and sorted it by changing the temp sensor as this control's the gauge and ecu...... cost about a tenner..
not sure about no spark tho.

which temperature sensor and where to is it please

it's the one that work's the gauge and also send's a signal to the ecu....If i remember correct it's at the front of the engine (and it just pushes into a pipe at the top)and blue coloured with 4 wire's to it..If you can't find it i will try and take a picture tommorrow of mine and show you???

update my missus went to get me fuel pump relay and ecu relay from vw just got back from work to find that the idiots had given her fuel pump relay and temp sensor instead.so i put relay in and thought  give the sensor  a go b4 i take it back 2moro. idled for 15mins then cut out again at 64 degrees on computer.wont re-start one thing i noticed was no.30 relay was very warm but all other relays were cold

Relay 30 is the ecu relay...sound's guilty to me

just got a new ecu relay no change ran 4 10-15mins then cut out again at wits end with it i think its time to get rid had it a year nothing but problems.anything else worth trying guys

Here's the common mk3 dying problem's
1 dirty throttle body
2 faulty ecu relay no 30
3 faulty fuel pump relay no167
4 hall sender
5 Crank angle sensor/engine speed sensor
6 ecu temp sensor
7 coil pack

Could be a good time for a fault code reading and see what pop's up...you can but the reader's on ebay for about £35

I know this sounds obvious, check for holes in the breathers etc - specially that dam rubber piece of crap,

the spark problem is a puddler...

pain in the ass, fred flintstone had the right idea, cut some feet holes and run

spent all day cleaning sensors trying to get engine running but nothing still cutting out took every 1 off 1 by 1then trying to start it.WHAT A sh!t CAR
