Does anybody know why my VR6 wheezes on the liftoff  over-run, but is quiet idling and under throttle? ???

Well when I am coming downhill on a trailling throttle, i.e. foot off the pedal, I can hear a sound like a motor running or a wheezing. As soon as I apply any throttle or coast it stops.
