Hi - my first post.
I was fortunate enough to pick-up a cancelled order Golf GTI three days after deciding this was to be our next car. Very glad not to have endured the long waits some have had to.
After a few years away (we used to have an 8V Mk2 Campaign model), we are pleased to be back. No regrets about leaving the Pumpe Diesel world behind (after 100,000 plus miles in TDIs since June 2000). Continuing impressions are that the torque of the turbocharged FSI engine gives 'lazy' and 'performance' driving options according to your mood - something the PDs never really achieved.
Anyway, the issue at hand is by no means life threatening (but is sure ruins the aesthetics of the car).
When I use the large VW badge hatch-release on the car, it sticks in the 'depressed' position (on the bright side, it presumably now develops some positive rear downforce).
Anyone else had this? Did you cure it (my imagination ran out after squirting with WD40)?
Thanks, and merry Christmas.
