just need a little help my girlfrinds drivers side door lock doesnt work what happens is the whole lock barrel spins round .. i removed the lock to find a long piece from the back of the lock that locates in to the door pin meachanism has snapped
my question is is this part, part of the lock barrel so have to purchase a new lock or can i just get a second hand door handle and remove the part ( including the spring as i cant find that bit now ) OR do i need to purchase a new lock set and keys as it is one complete unit .. its a bit hard to explain but i hope some VW experts know what i mean ( car doesnt have central locking so its becoming a total pain )
i did buy a central locking kit from maplin but i couldnt get it to activate the locks properly so if any one has fitted one before please let me know how you did it
