what engine

hi, looking at a 1.8t golf, it is a w plate. If i do get it, i will be looking to revo it, anyone tell me if the engine is pre 2000? or does the car have the newer engine? engine number is AGU then 6 numbers, cheers

Its the pre 2000 engine, AUM is the late 2000 onwards engine with VVT and Drive by Wire.
