Induction Kit (K and N) ???
« on: 21 December 2006, 22:01 »
Hi, im thinking about putting a induction kit on my 1.6s mk4 because i need to go more and its just not moving....

will i get a power increase from this? or will it be so small i wont even know?

any help would be great....

also..... most people on here got there golfs re-mapped... turbos and tdi's, is it possible to remap normal engine cars? e.g. my 1.6 and would i be looking on a increase?

thanks ppl!

now first of all i no not much about mk4's but...

K&N may increase power, i had one on my 8v Mk2 and it slowed it down....

You could chip the 1.6 but gains would be minimal due to no turbo. If you look at the remappers website turbo cars gain the most, as they can change all the pressures and so on.

Hope that helps
Tim

Lots of filter company's big up there induction kits stating big Bhp gains but were the induction kits sit in your engine bays you draw in more hot air which is bad for performance, so the 2bhp you may of gained from the kit is then cancelled. You get a lot more induction noise personally i love the noise you get from a foam filter but Ive not gained any any extra bhp. Ive seen a couple of vw mag tests and the best BHP gains came from panel filters but same again these gains are minimal filters come into there own more when you are going for big engine mods......
