If it's the fan that's not working you need a heater resistor..they cost about £25 and this is what i replaced when my heater fan stopped working..

Normaly when the heater resister is gone the fan only works on the highest speed so it could be the switch itself

yeaaah that what i was told..and after replacing the fan motor still nothing...and i gave the resistor from a mates golf a try and she worked like new. Don't know how common this is but worth a try and it saved me stripping the dash

first take of the lower glove box/tray and you will see the heater fan housing and to the left the resistor is clipped in to the back of the dash (you can follow the wire from the fan)....this slot's in and simply has two clip's that need squeezing together to remove

the H resistor went on mine, as above didnot work all together, note: if you can see the connector(i can as cabs have no glovebox) its worth checking its not melted ( you will probable have smelt an awful smell if it is, especially if you have been a passenger!) mine was so i cut the wires and replaced with an insulated large speaker terminal, works like new now.

Mark     you could buy one from a scrap yard!!! less reliable but they are all universal. or you could buy a new one now and then swap it when you get your new motor  :undecided:
