just joined on here after purchasing my 06 candy GTI    i've taken the brave step of trading in my leon cupra R (I owned 3 in 2 years ) i'm totally blown away by the gti's build quality and suspension    I'm looking into the morego option, possibly after new year

cheers guys, thought i'd take the car for a blast today as the sun was out,  my first proper drive in dry weather   Glasgow-lochl lomond-colintraive, caught the ferry to rothesay then rothesay ferry-wemyss bay and back home, superb empty roads in stunning scenerey The car was totally filthy at the end, naturally i have now restored it to it's gleaming white again. It's already had a coat of meguiars NXT and a coat of meguiars carnauba wax so the dirt just rinses off. Smashing

I'm from Fort William and so have driven the Loch Lomond road hunners of times on visits back North.  I'm really looking forward to driving home for a few days at Christmas.

Lucky man, Lochaber is superb for driving, just watch for the cops! i got done a few months ago in ochil, driving at 58 mph in a 40. 8.30 on a saturday night, quiet roads and it was an unmarked car. That A82 is superb just need to keep an eye out

Maybe need to get a Scottish meet together sometime next year for all the GTI owners

Well not so lucky really - cos I stay in Glasgow, so not much country road driving for me these days.  Still, it's good to visit the family.  I have a feeling they'll be seeing quite a lot of me over the next wee while

Sounds good.  What sort of thing do people do on a meet?  I'm not volunteering for a burn-out or anything
