My New Alloys - Opinions plz :)
« on: 17 December 2006, 00:06 »
I currently have TSW Stealths (7x15 ET32) on my MK1, however i want something thats less chavvy and more to the euro look of my car..

I've found these - Audi SpeedLines (6x15 ET38)

This is my car:

Could someone photoshop them on for me? (if i get them the big bumpers will be going for smaller ones)

would look alot better but you'll need adaptors to get them to fit. the audi ones will be 5 stud.

Best hope they are not 5x112 either. If they are you will either need, 2 sets of adaptor plates made for each wheel, (very dangerous)

or

Mk3 hubs putting on, and adaptor plates made up. (arduious job)

Unless you know a good machine shop that will be able to turn you a set from your 4 stud to said 5 stud , i know a place round here that used to make tanker valves that probably could but they are bound to cost

The workshop could be gods, it wouldn't matter. The pattern change would overlap so 4x100 -> 5x112 is a physical impossibility.

The alloys are 5x100, i'm running 4x100.

I've found a company H&R that will supply me with adapters to suit, i have checked and compared the centre bore / pcd / stud etc and have them on there way. Alloys soon 2 come, just need 2 talk to the guy again.

That will be fine then, adapter plates will be alright for it, just remember to check the ET of the wheels and take away the width of the adapters in mm from the original ET of the wheel, as the lower the ET on them the further out they will be pushed from the hub, and then you might have some issues with arch fouling.

Yeh it'll be ok, the alloys are ET38, the adapters are 15mm or 20mm i think so i'm on ET23 or ET18. but they are 6J (i'm currently running ET38 7.5J - and my arches have been rolled :)
