yep that will definately cause you problems, its supposed to be real soft, like a radiator hose something like that, softer than that really. why its gone that way though is wierd because they normally last longer than that, my mates mk2 one is the factory fitted and only just gone recently, maybe even VW have started getting skanky parts in new cars. no problem!

yeh i guess it was ment to b soft, i have no idea, but its is cracked, but i dont know how it would get cracked, cause its a small pipe aswell, and was hidden by the engine cover, 1st step then change this!!

hopefully this will help and work =)

will try and get it 2day and let u know the verdict!

changed the air flow intake pipe (runs from throttle to air mass meter) and guess what its fixed!! well seems it, no cutting out, no erractic revs, was a easier fix than i imagined..... should have gone for the obvius fault first!

thanks alot ppl!!!! merry xmass

and hopely my fuel economy will go up 2 hehe

yeh it was a big pipe! with a little one coming off and its was the little one causing the problem 1 because - it was cracked and it collasped, 2 - it has a little wheel thing in there i guess to keep the mixture right, and that was trapped, and 3 - it has some gunk/oil in there!

but all is good now just drove it again, and revs sittin just under 1000 and its working fine likes its new! =)

hopefully my fuel will go up from 52 miles per a tenna to around 65-70ish hopefully maybe more because some1 else on the forum said i should be hitting around 350 a tank :o

thanks tommy!!
