Mk4 problem, annoying me......
« on: 14 December 2006, 23:49 »
Is this a common mk4 problem?  One side of my rear lights bulbs keep going & the whole cluster is mush dimmer than the other.  Seen quite a few other Golfs with it.

I just know one of you is gonna say its a wiring or electrical fault and its gonna cost a packet at the stealership to sort out!!!!

Ta anyway.

Its a wonder you havnt seen soo many other golfs with the same Issue...

I see about two or three out of every mk4 with that one on the way home! Mine does it more so because the prat I was, I installed my sub and amps to the same earth point as the lights duh!

I dont think its expensive to sort out stay away from the stealerships!

So does anyone know the fix for this with my lights?  Seems like a wiring issue or something but I could do with some info before I go to a garage so they dont think i know F'ALL.

Any idaes also roughly how much it would cost to put right?

all i can say on the issue is there is a definate short circuit somewhere, have you fitted anything? anything at all even a phone charger? try what i tend to do which is google the problem or best solution( if known!) which in your case i would say would be an auto electrictian, find an email address for them (or the company if all else fails!) and describe the problem, copy what you write and paste it to as many auto electric email adresses you can find, you may be surprised, if you make it very polite! it may also help to say your a leggy blonde! (unless your email is like paulsmith@!) . i got a few replys from my immobiliser problem email this way and now i know the exact cause as the experts said the same solution. ( many wont get back to you so the more you send it to the better)
