Hi all just a quick question can any one tell me if all mk3s fitted with passenger airbags just had a hole under the air bag and no lockable glove box.... cheers

Not all mk3s had passenger airbags, IIRC they were options. And if you did have them, no only did you not have a glove box where they normally are, you also had a cack little glove box underneath, where the small parcel shelf normally is. Funny thing is that if you have one of them they're selling for about £70 on eGay now.

And if you have aircon too, god knows - cos there's fook all room in behind the dash on mine and I've got aircon.....

Mate i realize not all mk3s had airbags  but mine has, what im getting at is that mine just has a little poxy open space under neath were the air bag is and im sure ive seen other golfs that have airbags with little lockable draws under the bags ......

cant answer your question but you can fit a glovebox underneath the airbag with aircon as vw do a smaller glovebox for the aircon models as i have fitted to my car if that helps.
