*Cambelt change at 40k service? or 60k service?*
« on: 14 December 2006, 18:15 »
hi guys, ive had a quote of 201 pounds for my 40k service... not from a dealer, how much would a dealer charge?

also, they said they'd do me a seperate quote for my cambelt as VW now says it should be changed every 40k.. is this right? coz that makes it like a 600-700 quid service!

cheers

for peace of mind get the cambelt done and the tensioner puller and aux roller at the earliest possible oppertunity, also get the water pump changed at the same time as its in same area and are know to fail, going on my own mk4 experiences (costly to say the least) a £300 bill once every 3 years or so is sooo gonna be worth it for happy trouble free driving... lol
