Water in left footwells (Passanger and rear)
« on: 13 December 2006, 21:38 »
Hi,
My 01 GTi 2dr has a leak which I can't detect. At the moment the front and back passanger footwells are sopping wet.
Initially it started in just the front passanger footwell.
I've read all the other posts here about grommets and pollen filters and side strips ... mainly be cocka.
The water seems to be confined to the floor area. I've ran my hands around the trim of the car and can't feel any damp spots. Under the dash seems to be dry, along with the side trims under the door.
The alarm wires seem to be dry.
People have mentioned the pollen filter, I'm not too sure what this looks like, not the air filter I presume. Does anyone have a picture of what it look like. I'd appreciate if you could post it here.
If it was the pollenfilter would the trim under the dash behind the glove box be wet/damp, I'm assuming that it would be.
The seals around the door seem to be good and I can't detect any traces of water on them.
I'd appreciate any info on this.
Thanks
Richard.
