Clutch pedal height
« on: 13 December 2006, 10:00 »
The missus has just bought a 2000 1.6SE 16v mk4 and there is an intermittent problem with the height of the clutch pedal.
Sometimes it's sitting about an inch off the floor when you get in it, the clutch still operates perfectly normally but obviously without much pedal travel. If you simply put your foot under the pedal and hook it back up it will stay in the correct position and return to the top after each gear change.

Does anybody know what causes this? Is this a common fault?

I'm at the bottom of the learning curve on this model so I'm sure there will be plenty of questions to come.

Toby

Blimey you're right Gl looks like there are a lot of people with the same problem, cheers for pointing me in the right direction.
Sounds like my suspicions were right and it's gonna be one of the clutch cylinders.
Anybody on here had the same problem and solved it???
