AAAAAAAARGH

Bloody car wash took a HUGE chunk out of my shiny new wheels! only been on the car a month too! Any body know of a DIY way to repair it? Halfords do a repair kit, but is it any good? Its sanded down now, so just looks like a chunk of alloy is missing, but still not a pretty sight :'(

OMG :o
Thats the trouble with these car washes, you don't tend to get any come-back. Hope I get time to clean mine tomorrow or I'll have to do the same..........not that I'm quite so worried about my alloys ;)

I've never had any probs with them before - the seals are really good, I may give the Halfords stuff a go then, cheers

I spent most of the day washing, cleaning, vac'ing and waxing mine then the rear light broke when I was putting it back on  >:(

so down to the scrappy to fix it and I was about 2 inches away from reversing into a parked car  :o

luckily I jammed on the brakes. that would of made my day if I'd had hit it.

Bad luck mate. Sorry to hear about that. What gouged the wheel on it?

On the same note though. Top reason for not using them. About 3 years ago when I transferred to England I was going to use the car wassh on base and standing around it were about 6 teenagers with 2 more messing about inside. I pulled up and they all ran like someone set their ar5e5 on fire. I thought it funny and got out to see what they had been up to. When I looked at the side rollers that scrub the side of the car I found that they had streched out wire coat hangers and wrapped them around the rollers with the ends sticking out about the same length as the britles. About 5 each side of the bay. I was about sick. Had I been a minute later I would have driven my Audi in there and not have known until it was to late. Hate to think what it would have done to the body of the car. I rang up the plod and made a report along with descriptions of the kids and they were picked up about an hour later breaking windows in empty houses. Nice kids. If You are going to use the auto washs it doesn't hurt anything to get out and look at them first. I haven't used one since though.
