No, I doubt you'd be able to use the colourtune on a 16V, as you say too deep down in the head. You'd need the CO meter.

The Gunston colortune will happily work on a 16v. I used to it on my old passat 16v with no problems. It doesn't have to be very tight to get a seal.

worked on mine. The colortune comes with a viewing scope to use with recessed plugs.
