I'll go with that, but subject to the following very important proviso
If you have the black plastic aerodynamic under engine cover intact, spray in wet weather will not rise into the engine compartment. If that cover has been knocked off on kerbs and ditches, and, particularly on later non DBW petrol 1.8T's. Make damn sure you have a splash guard to protect the 4 coils and power packs. Otherwise the engine will stop in very wet weather. Further, you will be looking for some coil packs and circuitry that has burnt-out to earth.
On the Diesels and single coil, multi point units, it's not an issue.
