Mi16/Mk2 Challenge!
« on: 06 December 2006, 12:14 »
Just a couple of qualifications!

This is NOT a race! It is a test of cornering speeds!

fair do's my Pug is 1.5 tonnes unladen and with me and petrol will be nearly 2 tonnes!

So on actual lap times the Mk 2 will probably win.

So I'm thinking how can we do this? Maybe both have a passenger with a mobile so they can check cornering speeds???????

Perhaps we should also put a thread for this challenge in the Events section?

Only way to make it fair and safe would be to do it on a track with GPS to verify to speeds Len and if you're Mi16 is standard it should be against a standard Mk2 aswell.

EDIT - Just read the other thread. Sounds like all out warfare! If I've still got mine at the time and I can get the money together I'll come have a chuckle at you Len

My pug has got a K&N filter and a FSE boost valve, plus lowered and stiffened suspension. Plus some hefty MDF sub boxes!

How would GPS measure cornering speed?

I said the GPS so you can see how fast you're going. Bit more accurate than looking at a speedo...unless you got some fancy equipment stashed away!

Thought as much...I wouldn't believe what they say anyway. A lot of them aren't accurate.

Bar stewards! Not sure if they still do that on the M4 West bound. They used to do from a mile away. What was the consequence of that? 3 points and £60.00? I got that 6 years ago for 75 in a 40. It was a dual carriage way though.  :undecided:

i still have a couple of g-tech meters, they can measure the g-force under cornering.

just drive round in a circle and see what  the gforce is when each car loses grip.
