I have had an M plate Mk3 20l GTI for a few months now and in that time I've got it running fine after a few little service items have failed. 3 wheel bearings, oil pressure switch, radiator, but its at 117K miles so that's to be expected really
I have a few other little bits and bobs that I'd like to address, and was wondering if you lovely people might help, like:
Where would be the best/cheapest place to find an electric mirror (i've tried the local scrappies and can only find poverty spec golfs and not having proper acces to a PC rules out Ebay
)
I'd like to get a set of the solid, 15 inch 5-spoke alloy rims from the Mk4, then use the same tyres that are on the standard 9-spoke alloys on the car and get a set of part-worns to trash on track-days. Has this switch been done? are there any offset/misallignment issues that I should know about? roughly how much is sensible to pay for said wheels?
And lastly (promise!
) the interior has a few little burn-holes that I'd like to sort out, is there a better model that I should look for to source a recaro/half-leather set of seats?
