does that drive other peoples cars thing apply for when you start a policy at the age of 20 but then will be 21 half way through the policy?

for example, if i was to take a policy out with yourselves now (aged 20) would I be then covered on other peoples cars when I turn 21 in june?

unfortunatley not mate, it would not be added on until your next renewal

same as if you have a birthday midway thru your policy your premium does not go down and we dont call you and give you some money back!!

damn! would make life so much easier if i could drive my parents cars too. I would have to cancel the policy then start it again wouldnt I, which would then mean to start again on my no claims

yeah i know mate it sucks, the extra years ncb is probably worth more to you. As Gibby has said though i could do you a 6month policy its just whether or not the extra cost is worth it to you as short term policies dont count towards your no claims either....but your insurance would be cheaper after your birthday too  :undecided:

yea i think a 6 month policy looks like the best option for the 16v, then see what is best for the other car that i want to insure. You know you mention on some policies its 19 to drive other peoples cars, what qualifies you to do that?

one of the underwriters we use will give DOC to pretty much anyone as long as you are 19 or over regardless of your occupation but they are a bit hit and miss as to whether they quote and they will only cover certain cars......i did have a quick look for you and they would be willing to quote for you but want about £2500!! that does include driving other cars though!!

yeah that would go down when you were 21 and was for your 16v but it wouldnt matter anyway cos if you waited til then the other company i quoted you with in the first place who were cheaper would give you the driving other cars anyway
