Opinions on alarms?
« on: 14 January 2004, 14:59 »
I'm thinkin of upgrading my 16v security. Ive currently got a clifford virtual key immob and want a cat 1 alarm. In peoples opinions whats the best to go for, was thinking of a clifford concept 300 but if anyones got any advice as to any other options for around the same money or less please let me know. Ps whats involved in hooking up remote central locking-i've heard it involves a solenoid. Would a credited fitter be able to sort this out? Cheers. Rich. :)

Don't get a Sigma alarm/imobiliser, my 91 16v was pinched just before xmas when fully belled up, it was found stripped of rainbow interior, bbs splits sitting on it's discs.  Anyone know of another same age drop me a mail. ltr

I just went to In-Car to sort out another alarm after mine died. They had an offer on for the concept 600 for the price of the 500. The good thing about the 500/600 is if someone trys to take your wheel caps or takes ages trying to break in (or just stands too close) it barks at them ;D

The concept 600 closes you windows too if you leave them open.
Both the 500 and 600 have BlackJax so if someone rips you out of the car and speeds off the car cuts out down the road leaving it wailing and useless whilst you're safe down the road.

I've got a concept 500 on my mk1 and its been back 2 or 3 times because it kept going off for no reason. Still not right, the only good thing about it is the exterior sensor which doesn't always work. Had a toad on my fiat, that got broke into but never had any probs with it!
