Door locking options
« on: 21 November 2006, 23:09 »
4 months, hundreds of gallons of Vmax, 3500 miles and one very satisfied owner...

The last mk5 I had would open all doors with one press of the fob, this one only opens the drivers door.
I only have the w4nky midline computer, is this a setting the dealer could do?

Cheers,
Dave A

ive heard pushing it the 2nd time opens the other door/s. useful if you are running away from someone and u dont want them to get in the passenger seat.

mine tho does all doors at one press.

Just press twice to open all doors

Yes, pressing it twice does open the lot... but it's not that simple. I once left the good lady standing in heavy rain once as i clambered in (for about three milli-seconds) - and I now get similar treatment every time I need her to drive when I've had a drink.
Would be easier on the one press... Shows this is a smashing car if this is the only fault I can find...

I suggest pressing it twice when you're 10 metres away and she wont notice the extra 3 milliseconds!

dealer or someone with VAG.com shoul be able to sort you out on this one!

Mine came with it like that, but the highline computer allows you to change that setting and open both doors on one click.

Yes, don't rub it in... if I'd have done my homework I'd have got the highline computer too. Well I'll know for next time, and they'll probably be standard by then. Tight gits.

I rang the dealer this morning, £30 to change the settings... talk about kicking a bloke when he's down...
