very important question some1 please help!

Hi, when i go over bumps or pot holes, my car makes a very loud bang! noise from the back!

what is this?

could it be shocks?
could it be the springs?
or both?

thanks alot ppl hope u can elp

suspension bushes by the sound of it.

think parts are about 15-25 quid and about 2-3 hours for labour

Could be what Rhyso said, could be a snapped spring or could be knackered shocks.  Will have to get it checked out, I'm afraid.

thanks ppl, it was the axle bushes! i got the pair for £32 from euro car parts, but any idea bout fitting them?? any advice would be much apricated

the only way to change axel bushes is to take axel
out of the car and remove and re fit them that way
last time we did them at the body shop where i work
it took 3 of us to do the job there apain in the arse to do
better of takeing the car to a garage and let them do it

i would also check the exhaust too.......my middle bracket broke allowing the exhaust to swing across and him the underside body  :sad: but it does sound like the bushes  :cool:

what a flamin hard job!! been done on the left hand side as a bodge job thoug, got it off well lowerd enuf to give access, got the old one out, had to sand the new one down quite alot, and then it just about went it, gives a much better ride, now gotta do the right hand side next week, thanks ppl!
