Sunroof section has no POWER????
« on: 15 November 2006, 22:28 »
Quick question as I think someone else here may have already had the same problem........

My interior lights ( one that comes on with the doors open & also the reading light ) have stopped working along with the sunroof which now also has no power.... not even the little green light on the sunroof switch has any power.

Ive checked all the Fuses and they all seem fine. I know that the fuse that powers the interior lighting, digital clock and luggage compartment light is fuse 21 and this is fine as the digital clock is working fine too.

Anyone have any ideas?

I used to have this problem on my old Corrado. It was something to do with interior light switch that is activated when you open the doors. For some reason the sunroof switch and interior lights would work when the doors were open, but not work when they were shut.  A real pain if you want to open or shut the sunroof when you are driving cos you have to hold the door open at the same time!

Never found out how to fix it but the chap I sold the car to emailed me later and told me he had managed to sort it. Something to do with connecting an earth I think.

Does sound like an earthing problem.

Worth checking the wires at the door opening too. The ribbed rubber section that protects all the wires going into the door.

Chris , it does sound like you are going to have to get an auto-electrician in . You have lots of faults that could be earthed based .
