MK2 slam panel for MK1

I have not seen this done before but will the slam panel from a MK2 fit a MK1.

My MK1 is a write-off and I need a new slam panel. But MK1 slam panel is hard to find.

MK2 headlamps are the same. Is the MK2 slam panel wider? Anyone seen this done before? Any Pics?

mk2 slam pannel is totally different, not only that it has no 'skin' on it

I bought one a couple of years ago. These are Original VW parts imported from South Africa I believe.
