Hmmm...well at the time I bought it , I had two blue cars, it was ?45 I think for a jar of carbon wax, plus another ?16 for the road film remover stuff that you do first.

Normally, I just use the liquid cleaner wax.

And now I ve only got one blue car....and lots of wax...I think it will last forever!!!!

Its best to get it machined polished using something like 3M's phiness as it will get a far better finish than doing it by hand.

Also red will always fade as it has the most pigment in it so you need to concentrate on waxing it after polishing to keep the paint protected from uv rays.

Using some of the high street brands doesn't always make the car look better or last longer.

Mer is extremely dusty and the finish is average, and don't be taken in by the fire demo trick....

A/G SRP is a polish and as such will take a thin layer of paint off each time you use it, and after about a week the paint is fading again, I know I used to use it and swear by it. Oh and it's dusty. Expensive ? Yes as you use quite a lot of it.

Using some of the premium brands will make the job quicker, with no dust and you can get the wax on the trim with no aggro, as it's just a wax. The shine you will get is incredible and very deep. Value for money? Well you do pay more for it initially, but it works out at about a ?1 a wax for the car in the end, as the tub of wax will last about 40 waxings.

If you are happy with what you use, fair enough. If you want someting that is easier to use and gives a better result, then give a premium brand a go.

If you have the cash take it to any body shop and have the car 'mopped' - anything from ?25 to ?100

They'll use a mixture of compounds to effectively *remove* the surface of the paint - and then seal the surface.

Red is always pest for this - can't wait till I see a pink Ferrari !!!

The only way to keep it away is plenty of TLC after treatment ... even then sometimes it's not enough !

I take my car to the local dolly to get it mopped, my mate does the car for 40 notes and it has a 6 month no fade guarantee. If it does go pink in 6 months take it back for free
