i've got a red mk3 -5dr GTI 8v thats just clocked up '189,000 miles' and it's still going strong infact it flys the only problem i've got is the rest of my golf's letting go  , the m.o.t is almost up and it needs -brake disc's and pads , cv boots, shocks and springs,the front 2 windows open but the rear electric windows and roof dont  the tail gate is shizzed ,it's got rust but only surface rust on / under rear arch and some rust on the panel under the rear light but inside all the doors bonnet etc are like brand new and the interior is mint ,so i'm thinking of buying a1.4CL 4dr (no arch/spoilers )and swapping the good parts over or maybe an estate (will the interior /parts fit ?) or do i just keep it and paint the car +parts to make it right what you guys think  my cars pics are on www.pimpincab.piczo.com

I'd just fix it if I were you.

If you did the transplant you'd need new discs, pads ,shocks etc anyway as 1.4 items wouldn't be upto handling 115 bhp. Not to mention the hassle and having to explain it to your insurance company.
I reckon £500 should sort all those problems easy and the electrics are probably quite easy fixes too.

Have a look round using the search function and I'm sure you'll find someone who had the same problems.
