Black and silver plates are only legal on cars constructed before the 1st of January 1973  :rolleyes:

I distinctly remember seeing a Range Rover pulled over at the side of the road, copper writing ticket with those plates on. and wat was the reg? B1G MAN would be really funny if he was a jockey!!! :grin:

i have had mine on for about 18 months and never had any trouble, i have had the old bill behind me and they never even noticed! i think they kind of blend in on mine though!  :smiley:

I've had mine for a couple of years too, i've only got the front as I cant see a copper turning round for the sake of a plate  :wink:

MOT testers don't check colour only size of letters and position of the plate so its just the coppers you have to worry about, lets face it they're not the brightest bunch out there, how many of them do you think can actually work out how old a car is on the spot? none that I've met as none have ever mentioned the plate - they usually seem more interested in talking about what a great car the mk1 is  :grin: :cool:
