Backbox
« on: 11 November 2006, 17:41 »
Firstly, sorry as I know this has been covered before - I have searched, and read through a whole lot of posts!

Basically I need a new backbox for my 8v 1.8GL, something decent but not chav Nova stupid noisy. Just a bit more of a growl that at the moment. I think one silencer has been removed already (Am I right in thinking there is uaually one between the cat and the backbox?!), will this make any difference to what backbox I'm after?

Cheers for any replies!

Luckily the 1.8 backbox is identical to the gti8v.... I am a fan of jetex (and you will get a discount through this site) not to noisy and great quality

I have a scorpion exhaust on my gti 16v 2l which only becomes load at about 4000rpm or so if its stood just idling it has a nice growl to it. As for the silencer there is one on my golf. So it should go Cat to muffler then the back box hope this helps there is a clip of my exhaust idling is you search for the post on a steaming exhaust. hope this helps and good luck
