Oil leeks

 Hi i've got a 2lt 16v with a bit (lots :cry: )of an oil leek from coming from the housing on the top of the oil filter and the mounting which goes onto the side of the block. Anyone got any idear how to get this housing off??It seems to be conected to the cooling system  as its got cooling hoses conected to it . Anyone  idears ????

First you need to take the oil filter off - dont forget to drain the oil first tho...sorry if that's a bit obvious, you never know what some people might do!  :rolleyes:

There's a large nut holding the oil cooler in place, undo that and it will come off.
Obviously you will need to disconnect the water hoses from it aswell but that's nice and easy  :smiley:

had this on mine the other week.

as daz says, filter off, then the 27mm holding nut for the oil cooler, drain the coolant, remove the hoses from the oil cooler, slide it off the centre spline, then there are 3, 6mm allen key bolts that hold the housing to the block.

mine rounded off :rolleyes: so had to get new ones. space can be limited if you have fat fingers like me  :sad:


took me about 40 mins, start to finish  :smiley:
