Polo GT service schedule
« on: 07 November 2006, 06:33 »
I haven't got any manuals for the Polo (1991) and although I regulary maintain the vehicle I don't have any official schedule to work to. Can any one help?

I'm currently changing the oil every 5K, oil and filter every 10K. That may be too often :undecided:
I did the timing belt and air filter not so long ago so although ok at the moment, haven't a clue when they are next due.

In particular I'm wondering about the fuel filter as I haven't changed that yet.

Di, have you got any manuals for yours? Even a Haynes schedule would be better than none at all. I might need to get some plugs for mine, which ones did you get in the end?

you can actually get a haynes for it.. obv looksee on ebay..
http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=13263&langId=-1
im just about to do the oil and filter after 5k..
belt intervals are normally 40k/4yr, unless damaged, i think..
tbh, ive just been worrying about gettin the thing going rather than servicing atm..
have u had a look on www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum ?

ill have to get back to u on the sparks cos i honestly cant remember..
oh, and if u go to gsf for the dizzy, ensure its the correct one, cos we didn get the right one, rotor was knacked..

Thanks Di.
Just completed the 'big' service on the TDI so I can pay the Polo some TLC once I get the garage cleared out later

Its running great tbh. Happy to leave well alone and just service it. Now I've gone and said it eh

Hazel uses the car more than me so I'm not sure exactly what the MPG is but I seem to remember it working out at roughly 10p per mile.
