Engine Crane

Hi

Im going to be swapping my standard 1.8Gti lump with my newly built 2e block and PB head, im probably gona buy a engine crane very soon to lift the engine out and put the new one in.

Now i have found this http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=020110142&r=2050&g=107 and im wondering if its gona be man enough for the job???

i've seen one exactly the same lift a 3.2 out of a jag. so should be no probs.

Youll be laughin then , cant beat a decent lift makes like a trillion times easier , me n 4 lads too the engine out of a GSI cav in the carpark of my old halls of residance just by lifting the car over the engine

Do you really need to buy one? Are you gonna use it often enough to warrant the expense?

Why not hire one for the weekend?

All the hire shops stock em.

I did look into hiring one but its £40 a weekend - we paid half each (£65x2)  for this one and I've used it 3 times so it paid for itself  :cool:

Think they are just handy to have around , Weve got a cable opertated hoist type  at our lock up my dad aquired , its got a manufactureres date one it

    1954 it was made  :shocked:so i think its an investment
