FTAO: HARDCOR3 and other paint bods :)
« on: 05 November 2006, 01:11 »
Hi guys been doing a bit of patching on the golf and have a problem!
I masked off the car after sanding treating and filling.
I then painted the areas I'd done I removed the tape today and as I thought might happen, the new paint is raised in a really obvious square. How do you blend it in to the existing paint? the colour match is good!
Got pictures but photobucket is down :(

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

if i catch hardcore on-line i'll ask him for you! he did this on a mk4 golf the other and blended it superb, you cant tell where it is,i think its a case of taping the area off a little further than needed and then lightly dusting the paint so it fades in,but im not the expert so i'll let him tell you!

flat the whole panel down with 2000 wet 'n' dry, mask the full panel off, then just attend to work needed, and just prime the filled area, then gently build the colour up over the primer (till covered right), then gently, waft from the area you painted, out into the rest of the panel (so the new paint, kinda fades out, then laquer and polish the whole panel, n you shudn't see a thing.....

Failing that, bring it to me.... :smug:
