Intercooler Hose Kit For 1.9 TDI 150?
« on: 04 November 2006, 10:48 »
well picked up my GT TDI 150 thursday and everything was fine till when i cam to leave work firday, basically one of the clips has gone on the 'final elbow' exit from the intercooler which means then if i put my foot down the sudden change in pressure blows the pipe off.

I got the RAC out and he 'fixed' it to get me home but it blew again last night

now volkwagen are saying about £100 for the part (but i think thats the whole hose kit) at which point i'm thinking you can get a samco replacement for less, so does anyone know where you can find a replacement for that part or what size i'd need?

extre description of the part ;

its a right angle hose that connects from the intercooler to a straight hose these hoses are at the bottom of the engine and run right to left if you were standing infront of the car.

thanks guys

I've just replaced one on my 110 TDI. The outlet from the turbo, to the precooler. £20 from VW. I dug out the part number from my ETKA.

well i dont think its the same part that you've just changed, it connects the intercooler to the plastic duct that connects to the part you changed.

apparently its J0145834Q just need to find somewhere that has it in stock, allegedly a dealer in Dartford has one but their part centre must have shut at 12, 2 hours before i found out the part number ffs.

No, its not exactly the same part that I just bought, but we are in the right area:-

Looks like it is item 8 that you require, right part number, different letter on the end but thats probably because I guessed the engine number/year of yours.

I just bought item 12 and that was £20 so I can't see that the bit you're after is going to cost as much :undecided:

well the part i need to replace is elbow hose which bends 90o if you're standing infront of the car it has a short section going from the radiator / intercooler to the back of the car, which bends 90o
to the left (from passenger side to drivers side)

i can only guess that the diagram is a generic diagram or because the hose is flexable.

was 4 the part you changed?

No I had to replace item 12, the outlet from the turbo, prior to entering precooler. It had a really small split that I'm hoping was what was causing my turbo to go into limp mode on 3 occasions.

I also found a vacuum leak at the vacuum pump connection so all should be good once sorted.

Item 4, I suspect is the inlet to the EGR valve/inlet manifold :undecided: Need to have another look at mine to confirm that.............its all still in bits at the moment, precooler removed. Been working all weekend and using Hazels Polo.

if i understand you correctly 12 is the part with the white line round

the part i'm taking about is 8 as it connects to 10 which connects to 12, i couldn't get a picture as there is too much stuff in the way for the camera to focus.

if you can confirm that the part i've circled is 12 then i'll know the part number i have is correct.

also where can i get that software that tell you the parts?

No, thats not the same part.
The part that I'm on about is underneath the car and goes from the turbo outlet to item 10, the charge air tube, mounted in the front OS wheel arch. Item 8 then connects the charge air tube to the bottom of the precooler, all underneath the car and in the OS front wheel arch area.

You're looking at the top and that layout looks slightly different to mine, probably because your is the PD engine and mine isn't.

Whats your engine code? Mine is AHF.

if thats the case the part i've marked must be 4, which if you follow it through to the intercooler connects via an 8 also

engine code is ARL
